Why do I need Travel Insurance?

Is Travel Insurance mandatory?

Some countries, such as those in the Schengen Area, require Travel Insurance as part of the visa application process. For other destinations, it's optional but provides valuable protection against unexpected events and expenses while you travel.

How much does Travel Insurance cost?

The cost of Travel Insurance depends on your selected plan, coverage limits, trip duration, and the traveller's age.

How can I buy Travel Insurance?

You can purchase Travel Insurance easily through the tree app or our website. Simply enter your travel details, choose the plan that suits you, and complete your payment.

Can I buy Travel Insurance after booking my trip?

Yes. You can purchase Travel Insurance after booking your trip, provided your policy is issued before your journey begins.

Is there an age limit for Travel Insurance?

Yes. The policyholder must be at least 18 years old to purchase Travel Insurance. Travellers under 18 can be included under a Family policy.

For Single Trip policies, premiums for travellers aged 65 and above vary according to their age group.

How can I cancel my policy and get a refund?

You can cancel your policy through the tree app, our website, or by contacting Customer Care on 8001240505.

If your trip hasn't started and you request cancellation within 10 days of your policy being issued, you'll receive a full refund, provided no claim has been submitted.

Annual Multi-Trip policies can be cancelled at any time, with any eligible refund calculated based on the remaining policy period.

What is the policy excess?

The excess is the amount you'll pay towards an eligible claim. The standard excess is SAR 200 per person, per incident.

The excess may vary depending on the type of claim and doesn't apply to every claim. You can find your applicable excess in your policy schedule.

Covering for Trip Changes

What does Trip Cancellation cover?

Trip Cancellation covers unused travel and accommodation expenses of up to SAR 15,000 if you need to cancel your trip for a covered reason, such as illness or another insured event.

Please note: A SAR 200 excess applies to this benefit.

What happens if I need to cut my trip short?

If you need to return home early due to a covered emergency, such as illness, injury, or the death of you, your travelling companion, or an immediate family member, your policy can cover:

Unused travel and accommodation expenses.
Additional travel costs needed to return home.

Cover is available up to SAR 15,000, subject to your policy terms and any applicable excess.

What happens if I miss my trip because of a delay?

If you miss your departure because of a public transport delay, a vehicle breakdown, or an accident, your policy can reimburse you up to SAR 1,900.

This includes necessary expenses such as hotel accommodation and additional travel costs to continue your journey.

Medical and Personal Coverage

What is Personal Accident cover?

If you suffer an accidental injury during your trip that results in death or permanent total or partial disability, your policy provides compensation of up to SAR 100,000, subject to your policy terms.

Some benefits and compensation limits may vary depending on the insured person's age.

What does Emergency Medical Expenses cover?

Your policy covers emergency medical treatment outside Saudi Arabia up to SAR 3,000,000.

This includes:

Emergency medical treatment and hospitalisation.
Medically necessary travel arrangements to return home.

What is the Medical Inconvenience benefit?

If you're admitted to hospital outside Saudi Arabia due to a covered medical emergency, you'll receive SAR 125 for every complete 24-hour inpatient stay, up to a maximum of SAR 1,900.

This benefit is paid in addition to your covered medical expenses.

Baggage and Personal Belongings

How much baggage cover do I have?

Your policy covers lost, stolen, or damaged baggage and personal belongings up to SAR 8,000.

Please note: A SAR 200 excess may apply.

What happens if my baggage is delayed?

If your checked baggage is delayed for more than 12 hours, your policy reimburses you up to SAR 920 to help cover the cost of essential items until your baggage arrives.

Does my policy cover lost or stolen money?

Yes. Your policy covers lost or stolen personal money up to SAR 1,500.

What if I accidentally injure someone or damage their property?

If you accidentally injure another person or damage their property during your trip, your Personal Liability cover protects you for up to SAR 2,000,000, subject to your policy terms.

Claims, cancellations and renewals

How do I renew my Annual Multi-Trip policy?

Before your policy expires, we'll send you a renewal reminder with a direct renewal link.

From there, you can:

Review your plan.
Upgrade your cover.
Update your insured members.
Complete your payment online.

How do I submit a claim?

You can submit your claim quickly and easily through your account on the tree app or our website.

Simply sign in, select your Travel Insurance policy, and follow the steps to submit your claim.

Can I cancel my Travel Insurance policy?

Yes. You can cancel your policy at any time.

Any eligible refund depends on when you request cancellation. Refunds aren't available if there's a paid claim or a claim that's still being reviewed.
