What does Co-Insurance mean?
Co-insurance is the percentage of the claim amount that you're responsible for, subject to a minimum. We automatically deduct this from your claim payout. Be sure to review your policy documents for your specific co-insurance percentage, as it may change at renewal.
What's the difference between Accident Only and Accident & Illness cover?
Accident Only: Covers vet treatment costs for injuries caused by accidents (e.g., broken bones, cuts).
Accident & Illness: Offers broader protection, covering both accidents and a wide range of illnesses (e.g., infections, allergies, chronic conditions).
Policy Details
When does my cover start?
Coverage begins 45 days after your policy's start date (the initial exclusion period). Any accidents or illnesses during this period won't be covered. This exclusion period only applies when you first take out the policy, not at renewal.
What is a pre-existing condition?
Pre-existing conditions are health issues your pet had before getting insurance. These are not covered, as pet insurance is designed for unforeseen events. Pre-existing conditions include:
• Signs/symptoms of diagnosed or undiagnosed injuries/illnesses
• Existing physical abnormalities
• Issues medically linked to existing conditions
• Bilateral conditions where one side was affected before the policy started
Do I have to do anything before taking out the cover?
Yes, your pet must be:
• In good health
• Microchipped and tagged
• Free from any injury or illness
Do I have to do anything after taking out the cover to keep it valid?
Yes:
• Take your pet for annual health and dental checkups.
• Keep your pet in a secure area.
• Ensure your premium is paid on time.
What's Covered
Is there cover for vaccinations, neutering, microchipping, routine care, preventative treatment, or dental?
This policy covers costs for illness or injury treatment. Preventative and routine procedures are not covered. Dental treatment is only covered if it's due to an accident.
What happens when my pet gets older?
We cover your pet year after year if you renew annually. However, your co-insurance may increase once your pet is over 4 years old.
Why does my pet need annual health and dental checks?
Annual checks are necessary to maintain your pet's health and prevent illness or injury. Failure to do so can invalidate your policy.
Does it cover X-rays, CT scans, MRI, surgery, etc.?
Yes, the policy covers these if they're needed for diagnosing or treating a covered illness/injury and the costs are reasonable. There are annual limits for CT and MRI scans.
Does it cover vet fees and prescriptions?
Yes, we cover reasonable costs for vet treatment and necessary prescriptions for covered illnesses or injuries.
If my pet already has a medical issue, will it be covered?
No, pre-existing conditions and related costs are not covered, nor are conditions occurring within 30 days of the policy start date.
Vet Network & Claims
Is there an approved network of vets?
Yes, we have a closed network. You must use one of our licensed vet clinics in KSA.
What if I adopt an animal and don't know its medical history?
Have your vet do a full checkup before getting insurance to identify any pre-existing conditions, which won't be covered.
Are congenital conditions covered?
No, congenital illnesses, defects, or abnormalities your pet was born with are not covered.
Dental Coverage
Is dental treatment covered?
Only as part of an accidental injury claim.
I just spent a lot on my dog's teeth. Is this covered?
Only if the dental work was due to an accidental injury. Preventative dental care or treatment for dental diseases are not covered.
Policy Changes & Contact
What if I change my mind and want to cancel?
You can cancel anytime. Full refund is only available if you cancel within 14 days of purchase and no claims have been made. After that, you'll receive a partial refund if no claims have been paid, made, or notified.
