Health insurance helps cover the cost of your medical treatment and doctor visits in exchange for an annual premium. It also helps reduce healthcare expenses and unexpected medical costs.
How much does health insurance cost?
The cost of health insurance isn't fixed. It depends on your age and gender.
Who can get Family Health Insurance?
Any Saudi head of household living in Saudi Arabia who isn't covered by mandatory health insurance can purchase Family Health Insurance. The policy is issued in the head of household's name and covers all eligible family members.
Can I insure only some of my family members?
No, Family Health Insurance must cover all eligible family members under a single policy.
Who is eligible for Family Health Insurance among women?
Family Health Insurance is available for women who are:
Unmarried
Divorced
Widowed
Who can apply for Family Health Insurance?
If you're a Saudi head of household living in Saudi Arabia and you aren't covered by mandatory health insurance, you can apply.
Coverage Basics
Who can I add to my family policy?
You can add your eligible dependents, including your spouse and children.
Does the insurance cover dental treatment for my family?
Yes. The policy covers basic dental care, including fillings, extractions, and root canal treatment, up to the yearly limit for each insured family member. Orthodontics, dental implants, and cosmetic dentistry aren't covered.
Is my wife covered?
Yes. Your wife is covered as long as she's legally registered and lives in Saudi Arabia.
Can my wife and I have separate policies?
No, One policy covers both husband and wife.
What's the difference between the Silver, Platinum, and Diamond plans?
Silver: Covers your family's everyday healthcare needs.
Platinum: Offers a higher yearly limit and broader coverage.
Diamond: Provides the highest yearly coverage and includes emergency medical coverage outside Saudi Arabia during short trips.
When does my family's coverage start
Your coverage starts 30 days after you purchase the policy.
Where is my Family Health Insurance valid?
The Silver and Platinum plans provide coverage within Saudi Arabia. The Diamond plan also includes emergency medical coverage outside Saudi Arabia during short trips.
How do we start our treatment journey?
Your treatment journey starts with a visit to one of our Primary Care Providers (PCPs) within our medical network. If you need advanced care, your PCP will refer you to the appropriate provider. You can also view the full list of network providers on our Medical Network page.
What does Family Health Insurance cover?
Each insured family member is covered, up to their yearly limit, for:
Outpatient consultations
Hospitalization
Prescribed medications
Laboratory tests
Basic dental care
Basic vision care
Ambulance services
Physiotherapy
Children's vaccinations
Are children's vaccinations covered?
Yes. The policy covers children's vaccinations approved by the Saudi Ministry of Health, in line with the National Immunization Schedule.
Claims, Cancellation & Renewal
Do I need to pay anything when I visit a doctor?
Yes. You'll pay a 20% co-payment for each visit, up to a maximum of SAR 200 per visit. The co-payment is paid directly at the clinic or hospital.
Can I cancel my policy and get a refund?
Yes. You can cancel your policy at any time. If you're eligible for a refund, it'll be calculated based on the remaining coverage period and processed within 90 days, provided there are no pending claims and your submitted claims don't exceed the allowed limit.
